From the vicar

Welcome to Holy Trinity with St John's!  We are a new church community in Penge forming from the merger of two established churches - Holy Trinity SE20 and St John the Evangelist, Penge.  This is an exciting time for us as we get to know both each other and the God who has called us together better, and as we seek to share the love of God in serving our community.

My name is Jessica Smith and I am the vicar of Holy Trinity with St John's. You may well have spotted me, usually walking much too fast down the High Street or across Alexandra Rec, Penge Rec or Cator Park, or you may have bumped into me running across the railway bridge between our two church buildings!

We are a diverse, friendly church community of all ages and from all walks of life. When you come into either of our buildings, whether on Sunday or during the week, you can be sure of a warm welcome, usually a cup of coffee and, very often, cake! We seek to be a safe space where we can bring the whole of ourselves - our joys and sorrows, our answers and questions, our faith and doubts - into the presence of the God who created us, saved us and loves us with an everlasting love.

At the heart of the merger process was the desire to come together as one united church, whilst continuing to use both our buildings as places of welcome, worship and witness for our community. You will therefore find reference to activities on either our Holy Trinity Site or our St John's Site throughout this website. There is plenty to get involved in, on Sundays and throughout the week.
